2403 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Auxiliary)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWU's) on a 24 hours basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWU's Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided to form 2403 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Aux) as a Class "B" unit, at Calgary, Alta. The 403 Sqn radar personnel (both Auxiliary and Regular Support) together with the Ames-11C Radar Convoy will provide the basis for activation of 2403 ACWU (Aux).

EXECUTION
Effective Date
2403 ACWU (Aux) is to form eff 1 Jun 52.
Functions
To train Auxiliary personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilites as directed by the Gp Cdr TacAGp.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2403 ACWU (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air).
Control
Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the Gp Cdr TacAGp.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
Establishment 576R 2403 is to become eff 1 Jun 52.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and Cp Cdr TacAGp.
Equipment and Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC AMC and Gp Cdr TacAGp in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Auxiliary personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and Equipment accounting are to be provided by CO RCAF Stn Calgary.
Risk Allowance
For the purpose of QR (Air) 205.30 and AFAO F5.30 this unit is not designated a flying unit.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be arranged by the CO RCAF Stn Calgary in existing service buildings.
