INFORMATION

In accordance with the plan for the air defence of Canada, certain formations now under the control of 1 Tactical Air Command are to assume an air defence role in the event of an emergency. In order that these units may prepare for that role, it has been decided that they should become part of the organization for the air defence of Canada now.

One of the units affected by this decision is 2403 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) RCAF, Calgary, Alta (2403 AC&W Sqn (Aux))

INTENTION

To transfer control of 2403 AC&W Sqn (Aux) from the AOC 1 TAC to the AOC ADC.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

Transfer of control of 2403 AC&W Sqn (aux) to AOC ADC is to become effective 16 Nov 53.

Role

To train personnel of the RCAF Auxiliary in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.

To maintain and operate radar and communications facilites as directed by the AOC ADC.

Command

The officer appointed to command 2403 AC&W Sqn (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi)(a)(iii).

Control

Control is to be exercised by the AOC ADC.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 120 AY 644 and 220 AY 644 are to become effective 16 Nov 53.

Personnel

The transfer and posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and the AOC ADC.

Supply

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOC AMC and the AOC ADC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.

Accounting

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Auxiliary personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

Pay and equipment accounting are to be carried out by the CO, RCAF Stn Calgary.

Risk Allowance

For purposes of QR (Air), art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30, this Sqn is not designated a flying unit.

Accommodation

Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Calgary in existing service buildings.

Messing is to be arranged by CO RCAF Stn Calgary.
