1 June 1960 to 30 November 1960.

1 Jun 60

A/V/M WR MacBrien, AOC ADC, visited RCAF Stn Calgary. Future unit activities were discussed with personnel from this Squadron.

4 Jun 60

The annual Squadron Sports Day was held. The baseball trophy was won by the airmen's team this year. Wives and families of all personnel participated in the picnic and contests which followed the baseball game.

10 Jun 60

Airlift was provided by RCAF Stn Cold Lake for 5 officers and 13 other ranks for the monthly weekend training program carried out by this unit at Cold Lake.

26 Jun 60

A staff visit was paid to this unit by S/L CH Haverstock, SRCO,and S/L GJ Sweanor, SORP,from ADC.

1 Jul 60

Four auxiliary personnel were posted to 2403 AC&W Sqn (Support) for Special Duty with the Regular Force for a two-month period. One officer in the controller trade was posted to RCAF Stn Senneterre for a three-month period.

ADC announced the promotions of 4 officers in the Controller trade and 1 in Pers/Admin, to the rank of Flight Lieutenant.

10 Jul 60

An advance party for summer camp training arrived at Stn Cold Lake. F/L FJ Marsh and six airmen attended briefings held by Cold Lake personnel and prepared plans for the forthcoming training to be held by this unit.

17 Jul 60

Fourteen days summer camp training commenced at RCAF Stn Cold Lake. Airlift was provided by Cold Lake personnel. A total of 17 officers, 21 other ranks and 2 members of the Support Unit attended summer camp. Operation exercises were carried out daily and an extremely heavy program of training and evaluations was undertaken. S/L RG Ings and F/L ADB Houchin completed the CPO course while attending summer camp.

24 Aug 60

The AOC ADC, A/V/M WR MacBrien paid a staff visit to this unit. Discussions included the impending disbandment of this unit.

8 Sep 60

Re-activation of the unit after the summer standdown. S/L RG Ings informed all personnel of the comments issued by Stn Cold Lake regarding summer camp training. He complimented the Squadron on its successful summer camp. Training plans for 1960-61 were given by F/L FJ Marsh, COpsO. Six RTTP graduates were taken on strength.

11 Sep 60

The Commanding Officer, S/L Ings, informed all members of the plans to disband the unit by 1 Jun 61. F/L Marsh outlined the training program to be carried out until that date.

23 Sep 60

The monthly weekend training program at Cold Lake was carried out by 4 officers and 14 OR's.

5 Oct 60

Cpl FD Sullivan, Ftr COp, arrived on transfer from RCAF Stn Beaverbank to replace Sgt BA Davis on the Support Staff.

6 Oct 60

Air Marshall H Campbell visited RCAF Stn Calgary. F/L Marsh representing S/L Ings, accompanied the CAS on an inspection of this unit and attended the briefing held at Stn Calgary. A mess dinner, in honor of the CAS, was held at Stn Lincoln Park, which was attended by representatives of all auxiliary units from Stn Calgary. A/M Campbell spoke on Auxiliary roles and expressed regret of the need to disband AC&W units.

14 Oct 60

A dining-in night was held by the officers of the unit. Guests included wives of all members, S/L Gruenwald, 5 Air Div, G/C G Kelly and Mrs Kelly, as well as the Commanding Officers and their wives from the other units of Stn Calgary. A presentation of a Squadron crest was made by S/L Ings to G/C Kelly, former CO of 30 Wing, as a memento of the appreciation of 2403 AC&W Sqn for the support given this unit by 30 Wing, in aiding the training programs of 2403 AC&W Sqn.

16 Oct 60

S/L Gruenwald, 5 Air Div auxiliary unit staff officer, paid a visit to this unit.

Trade exams were held. Sixteen personnel were eligible to write in the Ftr COp trade, two in the Clk Acc and one in the Rdr Tech (G) (C&W) trade.

21 Oct 60

4 Officers and 14 OR's undertook the monthly training trip to Stn Cold Lake.
