2405 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWU's) on a 24 hours basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWU's Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided to form 2405 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), as a Class "B" Unit, at Halifax, NS.
INTENTION
To form 2405 Aircraft and Warning Unit (Res), Halifax, NS.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2405 Aircraft and Warning Unit (Res) is to form effective 1 May 50.
Functions
To train radar and communications personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the Group Commander Maritime Group.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2405 ACWU is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (air) para 2 (xv).
Control
Functional control is to be exercised by the Group Commander Maritime Group.
Administrative control is to be exercised by the AOC TC direct.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
The standard establishment for Class "B" Reserve ACWUs is to become effective 1 May 50.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and AOC TC.
Equipment & Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC TC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and equipment accounting is to be carried out by Maritime Group HQ.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be arranged by the AOC TC.

The AOC ADC is responsible for the design, modification and proceeding of all operations room telephone systems whether the associated equipment is RCAF owned or obtained on lease by the Gp Cdr Maritime Group from the Maritime Tel and Tel Co."
