S/L DG MacDonald assumed Command of 2405 AC&W Sqn (Aux) succeeding S/L GA Rice.

20 Dec 57

A Christmas Party was held at Anderson Square for the members of 2405 Squadron. The guests of honor were S/L GA Rice and F/O DA Baird, both of whom left the unit at that time.

The officers of this unit receiving promotion from P/O to F/O EJ Smith, F/O D Oakley, F/O Nichols.

26 Jan & 9 Feb 58

Flying Officer and Flight Lieutenant Qualifying Examinations were held these dates. 2 F/L's and 7 F/Os attempting the exams.

17 Feb 58

The RTTP recruiting commenced this date, candidates being recruited from the Halifax high schools.

28 Feb 58

Effective this date F/O Squires and F/O EG Deschaines were awarded Phase II Fighter Controllers.

1 Apr 58

The April promotion board promoted three airmen of this unit, Sgt JA Bowman, Sgt WS Cameron, Cpl RW Clarke.

12 Apr 58

The first Parade and enrolment for the 31 successful RTTP candidates was held this date at Anderson Square.

Effective this date F/O's GW Hart, EG Nichols, AD Richard were awarded Phase II Fighter Controllers.

17 Apr 58

W/C Lawrence and S/L Pook from Air Defence visited 2405 Sqn AC&W Sqn.

18 Apr 58

A Squadron party was held at Anderson Square this date. The guests of honor were FS FO MacAlpine and LAC FE Brooks who were both released from the unit.

20 Apr 58

Trade Examinations for eligible airmen were held this date. Nine candidates attemted the exam and seven were sucessfully regrouped.
