Visitors - F/O J Foote (AFHQ) DPM and F/L Knowlton (WD) recruiting officer.

Pay Parade. Officers entertained other ranks.

First training night of the New Year. Excellent turnout.

14 Jan 55

1st Officers' Mess Meeting of the New Year. F/L Aldridge, PMC. F/L MacDonald, CTechO is back again after 3 months absence.

15 Jan 55

Group of Officers and Airmen attended Foymount for training. No actual flying took place but they received some synthetic training.

18 Jan 55

All staff and administrative personnel listed as Fighter Controllers and Fighter Controller Operators took part in a Synthetic Exercise. It is proposed to initiate further training in this respect for all misemployed personnel.

1 Feb 55

Weekend trips to Foymount continue to be a regular feature for practical and synthetic training for Sqn personnel.

F/L Trotter has now taken over duties as OC of Airwomen. She was formerly assisting in recruiting at 7 Delaware. F/O Wilkinson, Recruiting Officer, is taking leave of absence and is temporarily replaced by F/O O'Neill. F/L Dobson is taking over duties of OC of RTTP being assisted by F/O Ashmore on recruiting.

W/C Freize visited Sqn and gave a short lecture on the future organization set up. F/O Seize spoke on SOPs.

1 Mar 55

A meeting was held at 7 Delaware to make preparations for the operation and manipulation of the RTTP Summer School for 1955. Those present at the meeting were S/L Kenniger - 2416, W/C Prowse - 4007 AMU, F/L Collinge - 2416, F/L Dobson - 2416, F/L Palardy - RU, F/L McKenzie - 4007 AMU, F/O Wilkinson - 2416, F/O O'Neill - 2416.

Visitors from Group were S/L Baril and S/L Bell re 1954 RTTP (B) overpayments.

A meeting was held at the Uplands HQ to discuss the summer training of RTTP for 1955. Those present were S/L Kearns - Uplands, F/L McKibbon - Uplands, F/L Dobson - 2416, F/L Collinge - 2416, F/O Thompson - 2416, F/O Barrette - Uplands, P/O Morrow - Uplands, F/S McMasters - Uplands, Sgt Carrisse - Uplands.

Final meeting of all sqn personnel regarding Operational Alert. Sqn is now on a state of readiness prepatory to "Sunrise".

20 Mar 55

First Sqn Operational Alert. Results very satisfactory.

29 Mar 55

W/C Wright from AFHQ to test his RO-02 computer with the 15-JID Synthetic trainer. He will make several trips to this sqn to test the computer's adaptability to synthetic controlling.

F/L WB Walker assumes Acting Commanding Officer of 2416 AC&W Sqn (Aux) on relinquishment of command by S/L Kenniger.

21 Apr 55

F/O TM O'Neill is appointed Recruiting Officer.

24 Apr 55

Urban HQ at 7 Delaware was broken into. Only cash was taken. Investigation followed.

17 May 55

S/L WB Walker was appointed Commanding Officer.

26 May 55

A social evening after training was held at 7 Delaware. Mrs and S/L Kenniger were presented with gifts on their retirement from the Sqn.

28 May 55

A very successful Station Dance was held at Urban HQ - 130 were in attendance.

29 May 55

Personnel of 2416 AC&W Sqn (Aux) were the guests of No 53 Ground Observer Corps at Brockville to observe the functions and operation of a Filter Unit.

31 May 55

S/L Keene and F/L Dobbin of AFHQ were visitors to this Sqn.

2 Jun 55

A Commanding Officers' Parade replaced an intended review by the press.

7 Jun 55

Group Commander's Inspection was held at Uplands and a social evening was held at Urban HQ afterwards.

11 Jun 55

2416 AC&W Sqn was represented at RCAF Rockcliffe by a static display of a GCI Centre and an excellent Drill Display by 27 Airwomen under F/S Feller.
