A dinner was held at the Prescott Hotel at 16:30 hrs. After dinner the officers returned to 7 Delaware Ave where a general Mess meeting was held at 19:45 hrs. The following was discussed at great length and made for an interesting evening:

  1. Minutes of previous meeting
  2. Financial statement
  3. Air conditioner for the Mess
  4. Entertainment - Summer Camp
  5. Election of Officers

The CO exercised his prerogative and appointed F/L Lacey, WK the new PMC.

The following Officers were elected:

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh arrived in Ottawa for State Visit. Sqn on parade in 2 flights of 50 male personnel to each Flight. Fall In was at 15:00 hrs on Maple Ave near the Saunders Bldg. Duty street lining on the Federal District Driveway at the junction of the Prescott Highway. Immediately after parade personnel returned to the Mess at 7 Delaware Ave where Mess activities fitting the occasion were carried out.

13 Oct 57

Sqn on duty again. This time along the FDC Driveway near the Cenotaph and long Confederation Square. Station Foymount sent 30 personnel to assist in this operation.

14 Oct 57

Opening of Parliament by Her Majesty. Sqn on parade at the main gates of Rideau Hall and remained until Her Majesty's return at 1630 hrs.

15 Oct 57

WD's of the Sqn on Parade for the opening of the Queen's Way by Her Majesty. After parade the WD's had as guests back at 7 Delaware Ave for a luncheon the girls of the Army and Navy.
