2420 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of the Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWU's) on a 24 hours basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWU's Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided to form 2420 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), as a Class "A" Unit, at London, Ont. Furthermore it has been decided that 420 Sqn radar personnel (both Reserve and Regular Support), together with the AMES-11C Radar Convoy will provide the basis for activation of 2420 ACWU (Res).

EXECUTION
Effective Date
2420 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) is to form effective 15 Jun 51.
Functions
To train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC TC.
Command
The officers appointed to command 2420 ACWU (Res), is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para 2 (xv).
Control
Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the AOC TC.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
Establishments 4627, 2420 and R101 ACWA are to become effective 15 Jun 51.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and AOC TC.
Equipment & Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC TC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances and travel and transportation of Reserve personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.
Pay and equipment accounting are to be provided by the CO, RCAF Stn London, Ont.
Accommodation and Messing
Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn London, Ont.
