2424 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Reserve)

INFORMATION
To provide a force of trained personnel who will be available to augment, in an emergency, the operation of Regular Aircraft Control and Warning Units (ACWUs) on a 24 hour basis, the Plan for the RCAF Reserve calls for the formation of Reserve ACWUs Class "A" and Class "B".
It has been decided to form 2424 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), as a Class "B" Unit, at Hamilton, Ont.

To form 2424 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res), Hamilton, Ont.
EXECUTION
Effective Date
2424 Aircraft Control and Warning Unit (Res) is to form effective 1 Oct 50.
Functions
To train reserve personnel in all aspects of aircraft control and warning operations.
To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the AOC TC.
Command
The officer appointed to command 2424 ACWU (Res) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para 2 (xv).
Control
Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the AOC TC through the CO RCAF Reserve Wing, HQ, Hamilton.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Establishment
The standard establishment for Class "B" Reserve ACWUs is to become effective 1 Oct 50.
Personnel
The transfer of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and AOC TC.
Equipment and Supplies
The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by the AOC TC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1.
Accounting
Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600.
Pay and equipment accounting is to be carried out by RCAF Stn Hamilton.
Accommodation
Working and domestic accommodation is to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Hamilton.
