INFORMATION

The emergence of 12 ADGp as a part of Air Defence Command having functional control of units on the West Coast, with subsequent responsibility for the adminstrative control of these units has necessitated numerous amendments to the existing OrgOs for units of 12 ADGp. Therefore in the interest of clarity and as a result of the decision to make 12 ADGp HQ responsible for the pay and NPF accounting of Auxiliary Units under its control, it has been decided to re-issue the OrgO for this unit.

INTENTION

To edit and re-issue the OrgO for 2442 ACWU.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

This unit was formed effective 1 Apr 50

Function

To train Auxiliary personnel in all aspects of air control and warning operations.

To maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as required in conjunction with 442 (F) Sqn (Aux) and 443 (F) Sqn (Aux) or as directed by the Group Commander 12 ADGp.

Command

The officer appointed to Command 2442 ACWU (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) article 1:02 (xxi).

Control

Functional and administrative control is to be exercised by the GpCdr 12 ADGp through the CO 19 Wing HQ (Aux).

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment 682R 2442 and 6921 2442 are to become effective 1 Apr 52.

Personnel

The transfer/posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.

Equipment and Supplies

The provision of equipment and supplies is to be arranged by Gp Cdr 12 ADGp and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16, Vol 1.

Accounting

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances, travel and transportation expenses for Auxiliary personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

Pay and NPF accounting is to be provided by GpCdr 12 ADGp HQ eff 1 Apr 52. Equipment accounting will continue to be provided by CO Stn Sea Island, BC.

Risk Allowances

For the purpose of QR (Air) Vol 3 art 205.30 and AFAO F5/30 this unit is not designated a flying unit.

Accommodation

Working and domestic accommodation are to be arranged by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island.
