Appendix: "A" - Details of Instruction

INFORMATION

Because a number of amendments to the Organization Order for 2442 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron (Auxiliary) RCAF (2442 AC&W Sqn (Aux)) are necessary, it has been decided that, for clarity and ease of reference, the organization of this unit will be re-defined.

INTENTION

To re-define the organization for 2442 ACW Sqn (Aux).

EXECUTION

Effective Date

The provisions of this OrgO are to become effective 1 Dec 53.

Role

The role of this Sqn is to:

  1. Train Auxiliary personnel in all aspects of air control and warning operations.

  2. Maintain and operate radar and communications facilities as directed by the Group Commander 12 ADGp.

Command

The officer appointed to Command 2442 ACWU (Aux) is to be the Commanding Officer as defined by QR (Air) article 1:02 (xxi).

Control

Control of this Sqn is to be exercised by the GpCdr 12 ADGp through the CO 19 Wing HQ (Aux).

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishment codes 121 AC 638 and 221 AC 638 (formerly 682R 2442 and 6921 2442) are to remain in effect.

Personnel

The transfer/posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ADC HQ.

Accounting

Pay and NPF accounting is to be provided by GpCdr 12 ADGp HQ. Materiel accounting is to be provided by CO Stn Sea Island, BC.

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600, except pay and allowances, travel and transportation expenses for Auxiliary personnel which are to be charged to Vote 601.

For the purpose of QR (Air) art 205.30 and AFAO F5/30 this unit is not designated a flying unit.

Supply

The provision of materiel is to be arranged by Gp Cdr 12 ADGp and AOC AMC.

Accommodation

Working and domestic accommodation are to be provided by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island.

"9 Pay and materiel accounting is to be arranged by the AOC ADC and the services are to be provided as follows:

  1. Pay and NPF accounting by CO RCAF Stn Vancouver.

  2. Materiel accounting by CO RCAF Stn Sea Island."

2 Para 12 - delete para 12 and insert new para to read:

"12 The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOsC ADC and AMC in accordance with CAP 16 Vol 1 and such materiel is to be issued by the CO RCAF Stn Sea Island."

3 Para 13 - delete "provided by the CO, RCAF Station Sea Island" and insert "arranged for by the AOC ADC."
