INFORMATION

There have been a number of organizational and administrative changes affecting this Unit which necessitated amendments to the Organization Order. In the interests of clarity and ease of reference, it has been decided to re-issue this Org Order attendant upon the formation of Air Defence Command, effective 1 Jun 51.

INTENTION

It is intended to edit and re-issue the Organization Order for One Radar and Communications Unit Reserve, Montreal, PQ.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

One R&C Unit was re-organized 15 Nov 49.

Function

The functions of this Unit are as follows:

    Training - To train the following personnel in all duties connected with the operation of RCAF Radar & Communication systems as related to Air Defence operations.

    1. Signals Officers
    2. Radar Technicians - Ground
    3. Radar Technicians - Air
    4. Communications Technicians - Ground
    5. Communications Technicians - Air
    6. Communications Operators - WT
    7. Communications Operators - RT
    8. Communications Operators - TT
    9. Communications Operators - DF
    10. GCI Controllers
    11. Operations Operators
    12. Such other officer categories as may be determined later.

Command

The officer appointed to command one R&C Unit Reserve is to be a Commanding Officer as defined by KR (Air) para (xv).

Control

Function and administrative control of this unit is to be exercised by Gp Cdr RCAF Reserve Group Montreal, through the Commanding Officer, RCAF Reserve Training Wing Headquarters, Montreal.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

Establishment

Establishments R100 RCU and 6145 RCUS became effective 15 Jan 51.

Personnel

The transfer and/or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and the AOC ADC effective 1 Jun 51.

Accommodation

Accommodation is to be arranged by the AOC ADC through the Gp Cdr RCAF Reserve Group Montreal.

Accounting

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600 except for pay and allowances and travel and transportation expenses for Reserve personnel, which are to be charged to Vote 601.

Pay and equipment accounting are to be provided by the CO RCAF Administrative Wing, Montreal (effective 15 Mar 51).

Equipment and Supplies

CO RCAF Administrative Wing, Montreal, was made responsible for the provision of equipment and supplies effective 15 Mar 51.
