January 72
CELE Officer training, CFS Falconbridge GPA 124/FYQ 47 Supervisor briefing. Course 7201 GPA 124 started. ADCHQ Supply inspection. Amalgam Hunt 72-3 Exercise, NORAD, Multi Region SSTM Foymount participation, Unit Battle Staff, NBCW and Operations.
February 72
Foymount annual Winter Carnival was held during the week commencing 14 Feb – 19 Feb 72. Course 7201, GPA 124 graduates 12 students. Course 7202 FYQ 47 Pilot Course started.
March 72
Commanders visit, Col. Arnott inspected CFS Foymount. Fabric Brave 72-3 Exercise 22nd NR, Live Foymount participation, Operations only.
April 72
Special Repair Activity (SRA) meeting held at CFS Foymount between CFHQ/ADCHQ/CFS Foymount to organize project. Snowtime 72-5 Exercise. Multi Region, live. Foymount participation, Operations.
May 72
Course 7202 FYQ-47 Pilot Course completed. Eleven graduates. Course 7203 GPA-124 started. Commanders visit. MGEN NL Magnusson visited CFS Foymount 30-31 May 72. MGEN Magnusson was met by a guard of honour.
June 72
Handing-over parade 20 Jun – Major GW Tahirali to Captain ER Cowan. Operations staff visit carried out by ADCHQ, Captain Brown. CELE Officer training course from CFS Falconbridge given the Supervisor’s briefing on the GPA 124/FYQ-47. Course 7203 GPA-124 graduate twelve students.
July 72
Handing-over parade 18 Jul – Captain ER Cowan, Acting Commanding Officer to Major DW Mitchell, Commanding Officer. Reroofing of the main Ops building completed this month.
August 72
Fairplay 73, Part I Exercise, NORAD CFS Foymount participation, Operations and NBCW. AN/FYQ-47 course 7204 commenced. The Special Repair Activity workshop (SRA) for the AN/GPA 124 Printed Circuits Boards began operation as scheduled.
September 72
Exercise Tumbleweed EDP. Full Station participation. French language training classes commenced with Mr. Bruno DiFuria as teacher. NDHQ/ADCHQ Devil Briefing Supply.
October 72
Air Maintenance and Development Unit (CFB Trenton) made a visit to study Fine Soldering Techniques and Printed Circuit Board Repair as carried out by SRA. CELE Officer Training, CFS Falconbridge GPA 124/FYQ-47 Supervisor briefing. CGEO and NCO i/c Ops attended the annual Operations Conference at North Bay from 10 – 13 Oct. Feudal Hunt 73-1 Exercise, NORAD Multi Region, Foymount participation, Unit Battle Staff, Operations and NBCW.
November 72
Course 7204 FYQ-47 graduates 11 students. Remembrance Day Parade held in Eganville, Ont. 36 Foymount personnel led by the Commanding Officer. Course 7205 on the AN/GPA-124 equipment commenced this date with 12 candidates. The NDHQ/ADCHQ Annual CELE Maintenance Support meeting was held at Foymount. Cols Holtby and Colosimone were present from each agency. ADC 100 hours swim held at CFS Foymount with 87 personnel participating with a total of 386 miles. Good show.
December 72
AN/GPA-124 course 7205 graduated 11 students. Foymount EDP Exercise and Annual Test. Full Station participation. Results were extremely satisfactory. Fairply 73, Part III Exercise, NORAD. Foymount participation, Operations and NBCW.
