Winnebago Echo XXV – Participated in Mode II training and HRI operations during Mode III.

Mr. Jean Charles Ouelette and Moel Bazinet arrived from Marconi to inspect AN/FPS-6 antenna system and assist in replacement of azimuth drive assembly.

Top Rung XI – 29th and 30th NORAD ECM exercise lasted approximately 8 hours. ECM encountered on Search, HF0 and HF1. Data recorded on special IBM formats for this exercise.

Mr. Everett Cipperley and Sherman Cunningham arrived from Marconi for a period of six days for IF amplifier modification and delay line oven test and repair.

Mr. Stewart Gibson and Mr. John Kenny arrived this unit from Marconi for a period of two days to perform repairs to OMNI directional antenna on FPS-27.

Snow Time XVI – This exercise was cancelled 3 hours before commencement of exercise.

Desk Top VIII – This unit did not participate in this exercise with the exception of Trusted Agent inputs.

Mr. Torrance arrived from Marconi to fix antenna nod on FPS-26. Mr. Ford arrived from AMC to complete AFTO 89s.

BUIC Phase II – This was an exercise between Duluth and Calumet on Mode III switching. Calumet took over TDDL and Height for approximately 2 hours. There were two Mode III switches over conference with Calumet.

Big Blast George – This was an ECM exercise for approximately two hours. Fakes did pass within 150 miles. ECM was very poor.

Organization – The positions of SCOO and STelO were renamed Telecommunications Operations Officer and Telecommunications Maintenance Officer. The DOO position was deleted. This cut our Tech/Tel officer strength from six to three officers.

Conference Loop Test – Sector loops were tested for about one hour to determine how they may be best set up during exercises.

RSA Team – The annual inspection team gave the station a 96% average. Operations had 99%.

Passive Tracking Mission – Second in a series of monthly passive tracking training missions conducted by Duluth. This is accomplished by the use of a SIF strobe simulator. The exercise lasted about one hour and was fairly successful.

Motorcycle accident on Station in which 73844 LAC RC Crozier from Station Sioux Lookout was injured and Mr. DD Feddery was killed. Station Armstrong team beat Station Sioux Lookout in the fastball Zone 3 championship.
