Air Vice-Marshal MD Lister, Deputy for Operations, NORAD, visited the unit. A/V/M Lister was accompanied by A/C Lipton, Colonel HR Thyng and G/C AL Bocking.

7 Dec 62

The Commanding Officer attended the 30th NORAD Region Commander’s Conference at Duluth, Minnesota.

Jan 63

220829 Corporal AA Gorman, MSE Tech, and Mr. Thomas Wilson, civilian employee, died from natural causes on station. Cpl. Gorman’s body was sent to Fredericton, NB, for burial.

Mid-Jan 63

Prolonged spell of very cold weather: 57 degrees below zero on two occasions.

1 Feb 63

Commencement of a trial "flying doctor" service for the unit. Auxiliary medical officers from Winnipeg to visit unit once per week, and to be on call for emergencies.

27 Mar 63

Mess Dinner held for USAF Officers remaining on unit.

1 Apr 63

Voting place opened for taking of service vote in federal election.

6 Apr 63

Unit officially SAGE-tied; to retain manual capability.

27 Apr 63

Last of USAF personnel departed from the unit.

7 May 63

Medical officer transferred from unit; "flying doctor" service to continue.

31 May 63
