Information

In accordance with the Programme of Activities and the CADIN and Related Programmes Report as amended 4 Sep 62, this organization order is being re-issued to incorporate the changes in operational control resulting from the transition from Manual to Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) Operation.

Intention

To restate the organization for 38 Radar Squadron (38 Radar Sqn.)

Execution

Effective Date

This order shall be effective 1 April 63.

Role

The role of this unit shall be to: (a) collect, discriminate and transmit to a designated SAGE Centre radar data appearing within the area of coverage.

Command and Control

  1. Designation of officer appointed to command 38 Radar Squadron – Commanding Officer.
  2. (b) Control – AOC ADC, except that operational control shall be exercised by the Commander 30th NORAD Region through Commander Duluth NORAD Sector. When unit training activities, which are controlled by the AOC ADC, require the facilities of the NORAD System they shall be coordinated by the Sector Commander.

Administrative Arrangements

Accounting

  1. Self accounting for pay and materiel.
  2. For the purposes of QR(Air), art 205.35, this squadron shall not be a designated flying unit.
  3. Treasury services shall be as shown in accounting circular 164.
