CE Building and Fire Hall taken over from contractor. Guard house taken over from contractor. FPS-27 tower taken over from contractor.

7 Dec 62

HQ and MIR Building taken over from contractor.

10 Dec 62

F/L DW Gray, the SCEO, was TOS this date although he arrived on the unit on 7 May 62 for the construction phase.

10 Jan 63

Combined Mess taken over from contractor. Power Plant taken over from contractor.

14 Jan 63

W/C GK Murray, the Commanding Officer, arrived on the unit. S/L RL Duffy, the CTelO, F/O E Lefebvre, the SLogO, and the remainder of the advance party arrived on the unit.

25 Jan 63

Single Quarters, the GATR Building, ME and Supply Building, and the DND School were taken over from the contractor.

28 Jan 63

F/L PA Hayes, PAdO, F/O E D’Entremont, RAdO, and F/O W Ovens SAO, arrived on the unit. The unit became self-accounting.

11 Feb 63

G/C EJ McLeod, from Grand Forks NORAD Sector, visited the unit for briefing.

12 Feb 63

The two chapels and the Recreation Hall were taken over from the contractor.

17 Feb 63

F/O S Maxwell and F/L LG Bradshaw, the Nursing Sisters, arrived on the unit.

The DND School opened utilizing two classrooms.

The FPS-26 Tower was taken over from the contractor.

The Radome on the FPS-27 was installed.

The Station Barber Shop opened.

The first church services in the new chapels.

The Radome on the FPS-26 was installed.

The Headquarters team won the Station Volley Ball League.

Wing Commander GK Murray visited Grand Forks NORAD Sector. He was accompanied by F/L LW Gray, the SCEO.

Station Snack Bar opened.

9 May 63

The Water Treatment Plant was taken over from the contractor.

26 May 63

Wing Commander GK Murray visited ADCHQ for the Commanding Officers Conference.

29 May 63

The Station landscaping was started. Group Captain Young from Surgeon General’s Office visited the Station to discuss medical problems.
