55 RADAR SQUADRON,PUNTZI MOUNTAIN, BC
INFORMATION
This Organization Order is being re-issued to adjust for changes brought about by the transition to Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) Operation and to show that 442 Squadron (Aux.) provides and maintains an Otter aircraft for the continuous support of 55 Radar Squadron.

EXECUTION
Effective Date
This order shall be effective 1 Nov 63
Role
The role of this unit shall be to:
(a) Collect, discriminate and transmit to a designated SAGE Centre Radar data appearing within the area of coverage.
Command and Control
(a) Designation of officer appointed to command 55 Radar Squadron – Commanding Officer.
(b) Control – AOC ADC except that operational control is exercised by the Commander 25th NORAD Region through the Commander Seattle NORAD Sector. Where unit training requires the facilities of the NORAD system, they will be coordinated by the Sector Commander.
ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS
Accounting
Shall be self accounting for all purposes.
For the purposes of QR(Air), art 205.35, this Squadron shall be a designated flying unit, but only those personnel filling positions annotated in that unit establishment as requiring continuous and active engagement in flying duties shall be entitled to continuous aircrew allowance.
