Mostly AI jamming – nil search. Civil War scheduled for 0030 MCL penetration programmed – 1 pair Oscote, 2 pair Ottawa, 2 pair North Bay.

ECM exercise (C-119) aborted due to APU failure.

F/L LM Pederson, CAdO, assumed temporary command for period of 29 Jan to 31 Jan 58, during the absence of S/L AJ Simpson, Acting CO.

F/L Sheasby, ECM Officer, 104 (K) Flight, arrived on TD from St. Hubert for the purpose of briefing Controllers on ECM exercises.

FPS-6 evaluation began. F/O AAV Cherkowski, AS/FtrC, remustered to Pers/Admin and transferred to Station Lachine effective 10 Feb 58.

4 Feb 58

FPS-6 evaluation completed – 21 hours Comet flying 7,000 miles. Civil War – "Cocked Pistol" at 0015 (station).

One CF airborne 1.35 minutes for ECM – Five controllers employed.

6 Feb 58

Three hours of ECM from C-119 and one CF-100.

F/O JCD Dumond left on TD for ten week Intercept Controllers Course at Tyndall.

Senneterre participated in Sports weekend at North Bay bowling, basketball, curling and hockey teams attended.

10 Feb 58

Seven Officers – F/L Scott, Park, Wortley, Chase and Tate, F/O Sage and Sutherland departed Val d’Or by Dakota for briefing on fighter assignments at Uplands by G/C Hull, G/C Gwynn and Dr. Lindsay. Return trip by Comet aircraft the following day at 1300 hours.

11 Feb 58

Civil War – MCL penetration at 0033 hours. Four pair of fighters assigned. Northern Electric personnel arrived for annual overhaul of communications equipment.

15 – 17 Feb 58

30th Air Division Operational Readiness Inspection. Manned to DC, Surveillance Officer, RM and three IC’s for most of the daylight periods and up to 2000 local.

22 Feb 58

Station Parent arrived for a sports weekend. Senneterre took majority of activities with a total of 35 points.

26 Feb 58

Civil War – MCL penetration at 0126Z. Two pair fighters. Cross Talk 3 – Four pairs scrambled from Ottawa, in Pinetree pick-up. F/O Carson handled Broadcast Control (a real fine job).

ECM Exercise – indoctrination 104(K) Flight C-119.

ECM B-29. No intercepts – Chaff only.

19 Mar 58

ECM (A1) Very limited chatter. Fricaise 3, C-119 on tow-line south of Puritan.

W/C EJW Higgin resumed command on return from Florida.
