1 - Because of the shortage of ground radar equipment it is not possible to provide 1 R&CS with the equipment required in basic training of Radar Technicians (G). To complete this basic training it will be necessary to form a training detachment at an AC&W Sqn for the purpose of utilizing the equipment installed therein. The Radar Equipment is to be made available to Training Command as the exigencies of Air Defence Command commitment permit. However, these considerations should not normally influence the training commitment in question.

2 - To relocate 1 R&CS Detachment, Senneterre, PQ at Ste Marie de Beauce PQ.

Effective Date

3 - 1 R&CS Detachment, now located at 34 Aircraft Control and Warning Sqn, Senneterre, PQ, is to be relocated at Ste Marie effective 10 May 1954. Peak population is to be reached at Ste Marie Detachment approximately 2 Aug 54. Training is to be progressively phased out of Senneterre Detachment until closing date 1 Sep 54.

4 - The role of this detachment is to carry out the equipment phase of training in the basic training of Radar Technicians (G) and the conversion of Radar PCs (G) to Radar Technicians.

5 - The officer appointed to command 1 R&CS Training Detachment, is to be the Detachment Commander as defined by QR(Air) art 101.01 (1)(a)(I).

6 - Subject to the remaining provisions of this OrgO, control of 1 R&CS Training Detachment is to be exercised by the AOC TC through the CO, RCAF Station Clinton.

7 - Disciplinary control of 1 R&CS Training Detachment is to be exercised by the AOC ADC through CO, 13 Aircraft Control and Warning Sqn, Ste Marie, PQ.

Establishment

8 - Establishment 160 DR 699 is to become effective 10 May 54.

9 - The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by TCHQ and AFHQ.

10 - Pay and materiel accounting is to be provided by CO, 13 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron, Ste Marie. Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600.

11 - For purpose of QR(Air) art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30 this detachment is not designated a flying unit.

12 - The provision of materiel is to be arranged by the AOC ADC and AOC AMC in accordance with CAP 16, Volume 1.

13 - Working and domestic accommodation and messing are to be provided by CO, 13 Aircraft Control and Warning Sqn, Ste Marie, PQ.

14 - The AOC ADC may authorize direct access to the RCAF Aircraft Control and Warning Sqn on which 1 R&CS Training Detachment is located for all matters concerning training and administration providing personnel are in possession of a provisional or formal security clearance.
