F/L WK Beattie, Staff Officer Photo, ADCHQ on TD for 2 days.

F/L AR Biordahl and FS Laderoute on TD fro ADCHQ to visit ME Section.

A "Shake-Up" (ADC) exercise was held.

9 Jun 58

W/C JHL Lecomte, CO, proceeded to St. Hubert on TD for practice flying.

F/O Beaudoin from 2450 AC&W Sherbrooke reported on TD for ten days. A "Cue Ball" (ADC) exercise was run.

Three Flying Officers from 416 Squadron, St. Hubert reported on TD for cross-training.

The Air Force Day Committee, headed by F/L WR Merchant, put on a good show for visitors. This was the first time the Station was open to the general public. Events included an archery display, swimming events, an Air Force fashion show, and a baseball game. The public was not allowed to enter into the Tower. The guests included Mr. Raymond O’Hurley, MP for this district; Mr. Paul Vochan, Mayor of Ste. Marie; and various other mayors and cures of the district.

A military funeral was held for F/O Dallaire of RCAF Station North Bay. Three Flying Officers from this unit plus Officers from Bagotville formed the attending party. A firing party of ten airmen was also supplied.

Seven Officers and fourteen airmen from 2450 AC&W Squadron Sherbrooke.

21 Sep 58

Thirty airmen paraded at Quebec for Battle of Britain Parade.

S/L Southward and FS Lacroix were on TD fro ADCHQ to visit the Supply Section.

Ten officers and nine airmen from 2450 AC&W Squadron Sherbrooke. The landscaping of the station area was completed in October. The Bell Telephone representative, Mr. Maher and Mr. Merrifield were withdrawn effective 1 Oct 58, RCAF Technicians assumed full responsibility of maintaining the NE603 telephone system.

Armistice Day celebrations were held in Ste. Marie and Thetford Mines. A flight under the direction of F/L DS Berube was sent to Ste. Marie, and a flight led by F/L CH Smith went to Thetford Mines.

5 Oct 58

Group Captain Loughland, the new SOMS, visited the Station. F/L Walker from ADCHQ on TD from 5 to 17 Oct.

The AOC, A/V/M WR MacBrien and his executive assistant S/L LG Lomas visited the station for one afternoon. They were escorted on a tour of the station by S/L Rapp, Acting CO, and the CAdO.
