Radar – 1 each AN/FPS-20A, 1 each AN/FPS-90, 1 each AN/GPX-7A, 1 each AN/GPX-14, 1 each AN/GPA-30, 1 each AN/GPS-T2A, 7 each 0A-175 PPI, 2 each UPA-35 PPI, 5 each 0A-99 PPI, 1 each AN/GPS-T-4, 1 each AN/GPS-T2, 2 each OA/929.

Operations:

The renovation of the central entrance to the Operations Room has been completed. New Director/ICT Tables were constructed through a self help project. Thirty-five (35) MM briefing slides are now being utilized for all VIP briefings. The above projects have added needed flavor to operations. The BSSC position has been relocated from the Control Dias to the TOR Deck and the Two Man Control safe is now located next to the WAO position thereby enhancing the efficiency of the crews during all types of operations. During this period the operations section received a combined NNR ORE and 26^th Air Defense TAC Evaluation. The results of the NNR ORE are not known. 26^th Air Defense TAC Evaluation team has indicated that the test results for the 640^th AC&W Squadron were very good. A 90.5% average was obtained. Also during this period the 640^th complex processed 5,058 flight plans with 11,083 tracks being initiated and carried. 1,085 intercepts were also conducted during this time. Operations gained two officers and thirteen enlisted personnel while losing two Officers and fourteen enlisted personnel.

Unit Supply:

During this period the Supply Section was audited by the Harmon AFB Resident Auditor. One minor discrepancy was discovered and corrected. CRP suggestions valued at $2,800.00, were validated and accepted by 26^th Air Division. The Disaster Control SOP’s were rewritten and updated. Four DECUF exercises were conducted in preparation for the annual Squadron Tactical Evaluation in June 1965. During this period two airmen were lost to PCS and none were gained.

Food Service:

During the past three months this section has been fully manned. S/Sgt. Mimms was the only newly assigned cook. The atmosphere of the dining room was improved with the addition of scenery pictures and installation of new windows. Civilian KP’s were hired through voluntary contributions from all personnel assigned. This is a big morale factor for the airmen. During this period food service personnel have worked many extra hours preparing for the Hennessy Trophy Evaluation Team for Goose Sector. We were inspected on 3 July 1965 and indications are that there is a good chance of winning the nomination. Many new items of equipment are on order for this section. We received a new meat slicing machine on 1 June 1965.

Security:

On 21 June 1965 S/Sgt. Johnny L Hatmaker was reassigned to Hanover AFS, NC, on a Humanitarian Reassignment. One other NCO was lost to PCS and one airman was gained bringing the assigned strength to five. Major Anthony M Granese has become Security Officer replacing Major Allan R McClane who has departed this station PCS. As of 30 June 1965, 51 suggestions have been received. This unit is levied with 47 suggestions for the fiscal year. The number of suggestions received surpassed our assigned quota. We anticipate no trouble in meeting our quota in the coming fiscal year.

Civil Engineering:

Several projects have been accomplished by the 8^th Air Force Mobile Maintenance Team including: improvements to the station water pumping system, repairs to the station water storage tank, fabricating new covers for the septic tank, installation of a latrine in Bldg. 1537, inspection of the entire station heating system and inspection of the station electrical facilities. A number of improvements have been completed by O&M contracts including: painting of exterior trim of buildings 1530 and 1532; painting water storage tank; and painting exterior of buildings 1507 and 1534. Roof repairs were completed on buildings 1507, 1534, 1539, 1560 and the lower POL pump house. Several modifications and repairs are in progress at the dining hall. The new multi-purpose recreation building was begun by H&S Construction Company and is 10% complete. The summer maintenance cycle, accomplished by CE personnel, is approximately 50% complete.

Transportation:

During the period of this report the section has lost one NCO and two airmen to PCS and has gained one airman. Vehicle, registration number 60B11142 was turned in to Harmon AFB R&M Section as directed by ADC HQ. The Track Masters have been transported to Harmon AFB Maintenance shop for the annual overhaul. A 600 gallon fuel trailer, a tire changer and a steam cleaner have been deleted and/or turned in to the Harmon AFB BEMO. This equipment was no longer required in the Motor Pool.

Communications Electronics Maintenance:

The following are the major actions taken in the CEM complex during the quarter: The radio monitor tape recorders were moved to the radio building; a public address system was installed outside of Security Control; equipment on the Non-Tac radio net was changed to the narrow band type
