1997 - Additional Details - Ren L'Ecuyer


Part of North East Air Command - 64th Air Division. USAF financed and manned. When the 64th Air Division took over the Northeast Air Command in 1960, they determined that there were gaps in the warning system. Therefore, three smaller AC&W sites, known as a "Gap Filler" radar detachments were built along the Labrador coast as follows:

Cut Throat Island, Labrador Det #1 - 922 AC&W (SS)
Spotted Island, Labrador Det #2 - 922 AC&W (SS)
Fox Harbour, Labrador Det #3 - 922 AC&W (SS)
