1999 - A Visit to Senneterre - Paul Ozorak

A Visit to Senneterre - Most of what once made up the radar station is still there. As a matter of fact, it's pretty much intact. The main gate (guardhouse) and the main Operations building (it burned down in 1991) are missing, but almost everything else remains.

When the base closed down, the town eventually sold many of the PMQ's to individuals and many of these are inhabited. All of these PMQ's appear to be in good shape. Still remaining are the Engineering shops, the two schools, Canex, the Recreation Centre, the chapel, the combined mess and the MIR - as well as the Headquarters or Administration building which is now being used by the Quebec Ministry of Justice. One of the old towers is being used by Telebec. Some of the other towers are also being used.
