Hudson's Bay Company Detail & Photos

We were fortunate to obtain a roll of 16mm microfilm from the Hudson's Bay Company Archives in Winnipeg Manitoba. This roll of microfilm contained a total of 1,747 frames (pages) of Daily Journal for the Hudson's Bay Company Post which was located at Port Burwell. Rather than tackle the mammoth task and cost of printing, then typing, each and every single page, we elected to complete the first six months (1 June 1921 to 31 December 1921) and the last six months (1 January 1939 to 30 June 1939) of the available detail. This material is supplemented with additional detail pertaining to the Christmas-New Year's holiday season entries for the years 1922 to 1938.

We are aware that the Hudson's Bay Company Post at Port Burwell was initially established in August 1916, but it appears that there are no available Daily Journal entries covering the period of August 1916 to June 1921.
