History:HMCS Charlottetown had just escorted the convoy SQ-30 to Rimouski and was returning to Gaspe when she was torpedoed and sunk in the the St. Lawrence, near Cap Chat Quebec by U-517 at 12.58 hours on 11 September 1942, nine of the crew went down with the ship.
