10 Radio Unit - Cape Scott, BC.

1944 - The Rest of the Story

This was the plank road that connected the Radar site of #10 Radio Unit with its Station site. It covered a distance of about two miles with an elevation climb of about 500 feet.

This road was mostly wet and inclined to being slippery. Fence wire was nailed down on its surface to provide tractyion, especially on the curves. MT drivers became quite clever at giving a speedy ride down a rather scary road. Shift personnel were moved back and forth in a small canvas backed stake truck.
