Bob Brooks went from Cape Bauld, in August 1943, to Brooklyn. He found it to be a very nice station, especially, when outside, working on the antenna, he was told to report to the orderly room. The CO told him to pack his bags because he was going on a three-week officers training course, as he was promoted from corporal to pilot officer. He subsequently went overseas and eventually arrived in Germany, one of several who then worked on aircraft radar, a change, because he was trained on ground radar.
Brooklyn radar station was operational a number of years after WW2.
