Queensport, NS

Although most of the time we were responsible for our own amusements, we sometime had help. On this particular occasion it was provided by the Air Force. We had received a shipment of identical, large wooden crates. We opened one of them to find that it contained these bombs.

Our unit had no aircraft. In fact, we had no airstrip!

Judging from the apparent weight of these armaments they were totally unarmed and were probably for use in practice bombing runs. After taking several pictures, we re-crated them and sent the whole load back.

(L-R) are radar operators - Vaughn Williams, George Samworth, Floyd Nelson and Hospital Assistant Alex "Scottie" Moir.
