Queensport, NS

A typical winter evening saw from eight to twelve men in the Canteen. Another three or four might be in the Rec. Hall playing pool or using the punching bag. The card games played most were bridge, whist and cribbage.

Clockwise at the table are: Wally Dunbar, Tom Baird, George Staples and Gerry Girard.

The audience in the background would have been coaxed from their activities to pose for this picture.

They are, (L-R) - Edridge "Red" Caillier, Mac Day, Ted Green, Mark Charlton, Art Chatten, Issac Tuplin, and Guy Coffin.

Judging from the total absence of beer bottles I think that it must have been late in the month. We did have beer, but it was rationed, four bottles per man per month. We got Oland's Ale and Moosehead in quart bottles.
