APPENDIX "A", page 2 of 2 - Personnel Establishment

INFORMATION

1. In order to utilize existing filter facilities at Prince Rupert, BC, it is necessary to form No 4 Filter Detachment.

INTENTION

2. It is the intention to organize No 4 Filter Detachment.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

3. No 4 Filter Detachment is to form at Prince Rupert, BC, effective 1st April, 1944.

Command

4. An Officer is to be appointed to Command this Detachment.

Control

5. No 4 Filter Detachment is to come under the Air Officer Commanding, Western Air Command, for operational control, and under the Commanding Officer, RCAF Station, Prince Rupert, for admininstrative control.

Personnel

6. AMP is to arrange for the posting of personnel in accordance with the establishment attached as Appendix "A".

Responsibilites

7. No 4 Filter Detachment is to be responsible for operating filter facilities set up for No. 4 Group Headquarters.

Equipment

8. AMS is to arrange for the supply of equipment in accordance with the establishment attached as Appendix "A" and/or authorized scales for this type of Unit.

9. The Air Officer Commanding, Western Air Command, is to be responsible for instituting the procedure set forth in Equipment Administration Order No Q.37/3 in regard to "inabilities" for equipment required by No 4 Filter Detachment.

Communication

10. AMAS (D of S) is to arrange for adequate means of communications both internal and external.

Publications, Forms and Stationery

11. RCAF Station, Prince Rupert, BC is to be responsible for the supply of non-secret publications, forms, and stationery required by No 4 Detachment.

ADMINISTRATION

Accommodation and Messing

12. Accommodation and messing is to be provided in buildings vacated by No 4 Group Headquarters.

Accounting

13. RCAF Station, Prince Rupert, BC, is to be the pay and equipment accouting Unit for No 4 Filter Detachment. All expenditures in connection with the operation of this Detachment are to be charged to Western Hemisphere Operations Appropriation Vote No 600.
