INFORMATION

1. It is not considered practicable to re-locate at Western Air Command Headquarters the filter organization that was set up for No 2 Group Headquarters, Victoria, BC. In order to utilize existing filter facilities it is necessary to form No 2 Filter Unit.

INTENTION

2. It is intended to form No 2 Filter Unit.

EXECUTION

Effective Date

3. No 2 Filter Unit is to form at Victoria, BC effective 15th March, 1944.

Command

4. An Officer is to be appointed to command this Unit.

Control

5. No 2 Filter Unit is to come under the Air Officer Commanding, Western Air Command, for all purposes.

Personnel

6. AMP is to arrange for the posting of personnel in accordance with the establishment attached as Appendix "A".

Responsibilities

7. No 2 Filter Unit is to be responsible for operating the filter facilities as set up for No 2 Group Headquarters. No 2 Filter Unit is to be responsible for the care and maintenance of accommodation vacated by No 2 Group Headquarters.

Equipment

8. AMS is to arrange for the supply of equipment in accordance with the establishment attached as Appendix "A" and/or authorized scales for this type of Unit.

Communication

9. AMAS (D of S) is to arrange for adequate means of communication, both internally and externally.

ADMINISTRATION

Accommodation and Messing

10. Accommodation and messing is to be provided in buildings vacated by No 2 Group Headquarters. Authorized allowances in lieu of rations and quarters are to be granted to personnel for whom quarters and messing facilities are not provided by the RCAF.

Accounting

11. RCAF Station, Patricia Bay, BC, is to be the pay and equipment accounting Unit for No 2 Filter Unit. All expenditures in conection with the operation of this Unit are to be charged to Western Hemisphere Operations Vote No 600.
