1959 - Souvenir Beer Steins - Don Norrie

Souvenir Beer Steins

The German beer stein is most likely in the china cabinets of all ex-wingers. These were a beautiful piece of art really, and of course an airman was motivated to deplete the contents as soon as possible so he might cast his bloodshot eye on the damsel superimposed on the bottom of the stein. The stein on the left is emblazoned with the 416 (F) Squadron emblem with an F-86 molded casting on the lid. The stein on the right is also 416 (F) Squadron, but without the miniature Sabre model on the lid. The centre stein is from the Wing hospital and the medical symbol is readily discernible. The name in gold lettering on the bottom rim reads; "223466W LAW R.M. Norrie".
