Madcap India 3 (F/L Hoar) was landing back at GT from a cross country to Chateraux when he became caught in a slipstream from the leader. He put on 95% power but could not get control enough to get out of the slipdtream. He hit short of the runway wiping out the undercarriage, drop tanks, dive breaks, causing "A" category damage, but was not injured.
