Local dignitaries visited the Wing and were taken on a conducted tour. Main interest of visitors lay in RCAF Police activities. Visitors were:

Mr Hilleux - Crown Prosecutor at Arlon.
Major France - Commandant of Belgian Military Police School, Arlon, Belgium
Inspector Labaq - Inspector Principal of CID for Province of Luxembourg, Belgium

Funeral service for Cpl GV Downey of 426 (T) Sqn who died as a result of a car accident.

Pipe Band played for Remembrance Service for Gen Patton in Ettlebruck, Luxembourg.

Hon H Green and party arrived and remained overnight.

26 Jun 61

Bishop Norris of Brandon arrived. Conducted Confirmation services at the unit.

Mr Sevigny and 6 MP's arrived at Marville.

6 Jul 61

Three hundred dependent children took part in a driving rodeo held on the unit. Rodeo was sponsored by Gendarmerie Nationale and was designed to test children's knowledge of French traffic signs.

17 Jul 61

F/L CAK Scott departed on transfer to Langar. He was replaced by F/L HS Moore.

Gen Landon, new commander of 4 ATAF, visited the Unit. Tour of station was conducted, followed by dinner at the mess.

S/L AE Cosgrove took over as SAO from S/L SC Hall.

24 Aug 61

First Yukon aircraft arrived with S/L Lloyd as Captain.

25 - 31 Aug 61

Exchange visit between 445 (F) Sqn and the RAF at Geilinkerchen.

28 Aug 61

S/L DC Liss took over as SSupO from S/L AJ Hall.

31 Aug 61

RAF Flying College from Manby visited the Unit. Mess dinner held.

Commandant R Werner, Officer Commanding the Gendarmarie de l'Air from Dijon, France conducted an inspection of the detachment at the Wing.

W/C SA Banks, Director of Air Force Security conducted a staff visit.

Friends Day held on the Wing. Approximately 3000 people attended.

26 Oct 61

Monitoring of a/c for radiation commenced. Highest reading recorded to date was 1.5 MR on a Sabre a/c. Four other a/c required decontamination.
