  1. Joni and Mac in the Citadel at Dinont, Belgium - September 1960.
    This room is the only one on a "tilt" but the optical illusion is worse. Everyone leaned to the left - unecessarily, providing a very weird sensation.

    (L-R) Ed Yakachuk, Dennis Paproski, Margaret Phelps, Cecilia Johnston, Gerry Hurleu. Ed & Cecilia were witnesses and Gerry acted as a translator. Marg and Cecilia were teachers at the 1 Wing DND school in Longuyon. Ed and Dennis were 441 Squadron F-86 Sabre pilots and Gerry was the Engineering Officer with 441 Squadron.

  13. This light aircraft crashed and was abandoned by a highway in Belgium - June 1960.
    A restaurant owner fixed it in position, painted it, and used it as an advertisement for his business. It provided a shock as we thought the aircraft had just crashed before we arrived. Needless to say, the locals always got a laugh from the reactions.
