412 TRANSPORT SQUADRON, ROCKCLIFFE, ONT

INFORMATION

Effective 1 Apr 54, control of RCAF Station Rockcliffe will be transferred from the Air Officer Commanding Air Transport Command (AOC ATC) to the Air Officer Commanding Air Materiel Command (AOC AMC). In order to reflect the change of control at lower levels of command, and to provide an organization for the Station which will ensure the most effective co-ordination of the functions of the two Commands, the organization of all units comprising this Station must be re-defined.

INTENTION

To re-define the organization of 412 Transport Squadron (412 (T)Sqn).

EXECUTION

EFFECTIVE DATE:

The provisions of thi order are to become effective 1 Apr 54.

ROLE:

The role of this Squadron is to provide air transport as directed by the AOC, ATC and:

  1. Provide Fighter affiliation for Air Defence Command

  2. Test the radar defences of Canada

  3. Carry out other operations as assigned to ATC by AFHQ

COMMAND:

The officer appointed to command 412 (T) Sqn is to be the Commanding Officer of this Sqn as defined by QR (Air) art 1.02 (xxi)(b).

In order that the role as stated in para 4 (a), (b) and (c) may be accomplished a Comet Detachment has been formed at Uplands. The officer appointed to command 412 (T) Sqn Comet Detachment Uplands is to be designated the Detachment Commander as defined by QR(Air) art 101.01.

CONTROL:

Control of 412 (T) Sqn and 412 (T) Sqn Comet Detachment is to be exercised by the AOC ATC.

Insofar as RCAF Stn Rockcliffe and RCAF Stn Uplands are affected by the existence of 412 (T) Sqn and 412 (T) Sqn Comet Detachment on their respective stations, the AOC ATC is to ensure that instructions have been issued requiring the personnel of 412 (T) Sqn and 412 (T) Sqn Comet Detachment to abide by station orders and regulations issued by, or on behalf of, the CO of the appropriate Station.

ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS

ESTABLISHMENT

Establishment code 150 BH 212 and 150 DG 212, for 412 (T) Sqn and 412 (T) Sqn Comet Detachment respectively, are to remain in effect.

PERSONNEL

The transfer or posting of personnel is to be arranged by AFHQ and ATCHQ.

ACCOUNTING:

Pay and materiel accounting are to be provided as follows:

  1. 412 (T) Sqn Rockcliffe - CO RCAF Stn Rockcliffe

  2. 412 (T) Sqn Comet Det - CO RCAF Stn Uplands

Expenditures are to be charged to Vote 600.

For the purposes of QR (Air) art 205.30 and AFAO F5.30 this Squadron is designated a flying unit.

SUPPLY:

The provision of materiel is to be arranged as follows:

  1. 412 (T) Sqn Rockcliffe - AOsC ATC and AMC, and such items are to be issued by the CO RCAF Station Rockcliffe.

  2. 412 (T) Sqn Comet Det - AOsC ADC,AMC, and ATC, and such items are to be issued by the CO RCAF Station Uplands.

ACCOMMODATION AND MESSING

Accommodation and messing are to be provided as follows:

  1. 412 (T) Sqn Rockcliffe - CO RCAF Stn Rockcliffe

  2. 412 (T) Sqn Comet Det - CO RCAF Stn Uplands.

Other Services:

All resources for which provision has not been made in the Squadron establishment, such as medical, dental, religious, techical workshops, construction engineering, mobile equipment and telecommunications are to be provided as follows:

  1. 412 (T) Sqn Rockcliffe - CO RCAF Stn Rockcliffe

  2. 412 (T) Sqn Comet Det - CO RCAF Stn Uplands.
