NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE

FORT FRONTENAC,
Kingston, Ont

3rd June 1958

My Dear Carr,

On return from this years Overseas Tour I wish to express the appreciation of the National Defence College for the transportation which was provided for the College by 412 Squadron.

The provision of a Comet aircraft for the trans-Atlantic flight, both ways, was very much appreciated. I feel there is no need to tell you the difference in comfort and time that this aircraft meant for the college. It was very much appreciated by all of the group and I would like to commend the Captain of the aircraft, Flight Lieutenant DM Broadfoot and his crew, on the two excellent flights we made in his Comet.

It is to be hoped that it wil be possible in the future to have one of the Comet aircraft for future tours of the National Defence College.

I would also like to express the appreciation of those of us who flew in the North Star aircraft from Rome to New Delhi and back to Paris. The Captain of the aircraft, Flight Lieutenant RHW Raike, and his crew could not have been more solicitous of our comfort and welfare and I would particularly mention Corporal PJ Conway, 47421, the Steward for the excellence of the meals and snacks which were served in flight.

On behalf of the National Defence College, thank you very much indeed for another excellent tour.
