  1. Scott Pickett posing in front of PMQs - 1953.
    The field in the back was to the east of most of the PMQs and it eventually filled up with more PMQs. It was the location of the annual Guy Fawkes bonfire. Note the Edith Weston school cap. The Manton Road is in the back at the right.

  2. The Pickett family posing in front of PMQs with local mushrooms - 1953.
    The PMQs were surrounded with cow pastures, all the necessary ingrediants for huge mushrooms. It was handy to have a member of the family who worked in the Mess Hall, however the odor of mushrooms lasted for days. My father thought free food was great.
