RCAF Air Traffic Control
Macdonald, Manitoba

RCAF Station Macdonald, Manitoba - 27 May 1956

F/O Henry Hankless and I, LAC John Rodger, crashed on landing, totaling the T-33 and causing minor injuries to the pilot and myself. If not for the swift action of the fire crew and others who put out flash fires and axing open the canopy, things would have been much worse.

Having served my term in the RCAF, I came back to Quebec a week later and got a job at TCA on July 3rd 1956, still sporting some bruises on my shoulders. I was fortunate to have had a 35 year, 6 month career with TCA/AC, telling my story many times.
