Operation Bluenose

Detail and Photos for Saglek (Hebron)

Pinetree Line web site comment - It must be remembered that most of the initial construction for Pinetree Line radar stations in the Canadian northeast had been completed during the summer and early fall of 1952. This was part of Operation SUNAC and resulted in inital construction being completed at locations such as St. Anthony, Hopedale, Cartwright, Saglek (Hebron), Cape Chidley, and Frobisher Bay.

It is safe to assume that Operation Bluenose - during the summer of 1953 - was used to augment the situation which existed at Saglek (Hebron).
